Erika Deutschlander, PT, MPT, MDT

Erika brings over 25 years of experience as a Physical Therapist to PT Plus, from out-patient orthopedics to homecare, in addition to management of a rehabilitation team. She received her master’s degree from U.C.S.F. in California, her home state, where she practiced orthopedics for 7 years, with a focus on runners; gait and running mechanics, and the foot and ankle. She moved to Connecticut in 2002 and then eventually transitioned to homecare, both with an agency and privately. In this capacity, she treats everything from joint replacements to balance issues to recovery post COVID-19.

Erika has known Katey, personally and professionally, for 10 years, and is thrilled to be joining her at PT Plus. She continues to see people in their homes as well, and loves being able to provide continuity of care for clients from the home setting to the outpatient setting. Erika takes a holistic approach and enjoys helping others reach their maximal potential through manual therapy, exercise, and education.  Two years ago, she was trained in the Swiss treatment, AtlasPROfilax, which she finds a great adjunct to physical therapy, especially for the extra complicated cases. Please refer to the ‘Services’ tab if you are interested in learning more about this alternative treatment. When not treating, Erika is working on her ‘clean-crafted’ wine business, exercising, hiking with her dog, or spending time in the backyard with her husband, Oliver, tending to the bees, chickens, and projects.
